Suggested follow-up questions
Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans
Most answers end with a follow-up question about a related part of the research. Reply to it to keep going, or ask your own. ChatPEP also suggests questions on the home screen, and on the web, after a calculation. There are no follow-up buttons under an answer.
The question at the end of an answer
- It points to something related you may not have asked about yet, such as timing in the studies, how a compound was studied alongside others, or a pattern in reported side effects.
- To take it up, reply "Yes" or ask it in your own words. A reply counts as a message, like any other.
- It asks about the research, never about your own use of a compound.
- You can ignore it and ask anything else.
Suggested questions on the home screen
When you start a new chat, a row of suggested questions sits next to the message box. Select one to send it as your question.
- Up to two are written from the compounds in your profile, such as reconstitution math for the first one you listed.
- The rest come from questions people asked on ChatPEP in the past week, rewritten as new, general questions. They are refreshed once a day, and ChatPEP ranks them by your goals and the compounds in your profile.
- The reconstitution math suggestion opens the calculator instead of sending a message.
- If you are not signed in, you see the same suggestions without the ranking.
To keep your chats out of what ChatPEP learns from, turn off Improve ChatPEP for everyone in Data controls. See How your data is used to improve ChatPEP.
Suggested questions after a calculation
On the web, once the calculator in the message box has a result, it suggests questions about it: How long will this vial last?, Does that look right? when ChatPEP knows the compound, and Storage after mixing.
- Select a suggestion.
- The calculation is attached to your message, and the question fills the message box.
- Edit the question if you like, then send it. Nothing sends until you do.
The calculator in the iPhone and Android apps does not show these suggestions. See Add a calculation to a message.
