Keep a consistent peptide log by recording the amount and unit, when the event happened, and the vial associated with it. Use the checklist below to choose a short logging routine with a clear path for late entries and corrections.
Keep the essentials together
-
Check that the amount includes its unit.
Test whether the log keeps an amount and its unit together, so a later review has more than a bare number to interpret. Copy the amount as recorded, rather than replacing it with an amount mentioned in a study. Keep uncertainty in a note instead of filling gaps from memory. Treat this as a recordkeeping check, not a decision about an appropriate amount.

Check that event time is editable.
Test whether the tool lets you record when an event happened, including an earlier time, so a late entry can describe the original event. Try this with a sample record before committing to a workflow. If the original time is approximate, preserve that uncertainty in a note. Do not make an estimate look exact just to finish the entry.

Check the correction path
-
Check that the entry carries its vial.
Test whether an ordinary entry includes the vial in use, so you can review the entry with that context attached. Look for a vial record that holds the label amount, recorded water amount, and mixing date together. Treat those fields as documentation of an existing record. Keep the task separate from instructions for preparing or using a vial.

Check that past entries remain editable.
Test whether you can reopen an old entry and correct it, rather than having to create a replacement. Include the correction process in your comparison of a tracker and a notes app. Check for a note field where you can explain a changed time or amount. Prefer a workflow you can understand again without reconstructing the correction from several separate notes.

Make routine entries quick
-
Use the shortcut when saved details match.
ChatPEP's Today view logs an entry when you tap its ring, using the item's saved amount and the vial in use. Selecting the item's name instead opens the log sheet, where you can review the time, amount, and note. Compare that route with the fields you would retype in a notes app. Prefer fewer repeated steps only when the essential details stay intact. Use the full sheet when the existing record differs from the saved details.

Enter a missed record
-
Choose the event time for late entries.
In ChatPEP's log sheet, Time offers Now or Earlier, which lets you pick when the event happened. Use Earlier when entering a record you missed at the time. The sheet also has a Note field for context. Keep an approximate time visibly approximate rather than adding precision that the original record did not contain.

For a recordkeeping example, suppose a paper note describes a Tuesday evening event, but you enter it on Wednesday morning. Choose Tuesday's event time and add “Tuesday evening; time approximate; entered later” in the note. Copy the amount and unit from the original record, and check the associated vial rather than substituting Wednesday's details.
Correct an existing entry
-
Edit the original instead of adding another.
ChatPEP lets you edit or remove past entries from the item's history. Open the existing entry when correcting a mistake, rather than adding another record of the same event. Use its note to explain the correction when that context matters. From the Logged card, you can also change a logged entry to skipped or undo it. After a correction, review the amount and unit, event time, and vial together.

Review before asking questions
-
Check the record before interpreting it.
ChatPEP can read the log when answering a question about consistency and shows the days it examined. Review uncertain times, missing details, and corrections before asking about a pattern. Keep that review focused on what the record actually contains. For questions about amounts or schedules in research, ChatPEP reports what cited studies used. Keep a logged event and a published study finding separate when reviewing an answer.
