Age requirement

You must be 18 or older to use ChatPEP. The date of birth ChatPEP asks for when you set up your account must show that you are.
The rule
Section 1 of the terms of service states: "You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to use the Service." The privacy policy adds that ChatPEP is not intended for anyone under 18.
How ChatPEP checks
When you set up your account, the step titled "A little about you" asks for your name, biological sex, and date of birth. This step cannot be skipped: Skip for now appears only once your name and date of birth are saved, and setup does not continue with a date that makes you younger than 18. An account set up before this rule is asked for both the next time it opens ChatPEP. On the web, the step notes that ChatPEP is for adults 18 and over, and a date under 18 shows the message "You must be at least 18 years old to use ChatPEP."
The iPhone and Android apps check the same rule.
If you entered the wrong date
Your date of birth is locked in Settings. To correct it, contact support. See Change your email or date of birth.
If someone under 18 is using ChatPEP
Contact support and tell the team which account it is. As the privacy policy states, if ChatPEP learns it has collected information from someone under 18, it takes steps to delete that information.
