Cookies and analytics

ChatPEP uses a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in and an analytics cookie to count visits. It also records how pages are used, including session recordings, to find problems and improve the product. ChatPEP does not sell your information or share it with advertisers.
What analytics records
- Usage events: the pages you open and the buttons you select, with the time, your approximate city and country, and your browser.
- Session recordings: a replay of how a page was used, including clicks, scrolling, and what was on screen. When you are signed in, a recording is labeled with your email address. The team uses them to see where something went wrong.
The analytics and session recording providers ChatPEP uses are named in the privacy policy.
What it does not do
- ChatPEP does not show ads, and does not share your information with advertisers.
- Analytics has no effect on your answers.
- Improve ChatPEP for everyone in Data controls is a separate setting. It decides whether your chats are used to improve ChatPEP, including training its models, and it does not turn analytics on or off. See How your data is used to improve ChatPEP.
Limit what is recorded
You can block or clear cookies in your browser's settings. Blocking the sign-in cookie signs you out. Blocking the visitor ID means visits from your browser are not linked together.
