Data controls, explained
Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans
Data controls is where you decide what ChatPEP may learn from, clear out your chat history, and delete your account. It lives in Settings on the web, on iPhone, and on Android.
Find Data controls
On the web
Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, select Settings, then select Data controls.
On iPhone and on Android
Open the menu, tap Settings, then tap Data controls.
Improve ChatPEP for everyone
This switch decides whether ChatPEP may use your chats to improve the experience for everyone, including training its AI models. It is on by default. Turning it off leaves your chats out, and it changes nothing about your own answers. How your data is used to improve ChatPEP explains exactly what it reads.
Chat history
- Archive all chats moves every chat out of your sidebar. They stay under Archived chats, where you can restore any of them.
- Delete all chats removes every chat, archived ones included. This cannot be undone.
- Archived chats lists what you have archived, with a way to restore or delete each one.
Archive, restore, and delete chats covers each of these in detail.
Delete account
Delete account closes your account at once and cancels a subscription bought on the web. ChatPEP keeps its data for 365 days to meet legal and financial obligations, then deletes it. See Delete your account before you do.
