Delete your account
Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans
You can delete your account from Data controls on the web, on iPhone, or on Android. It closes right away: you are signed out everywhere, your shared links stop working, and a subscription bought on the web is cancelled. ChatPEP keeps your data for 365 days to meet legal and financial obligations, then deletes it permanently. It cannot be undone.
Before you delete
- There is no download. Copy anything you want to keep from your chats first. See Ask for a copy of your data, or a correction.
- Refunds. Deleting your account does not refund the rest of your billing period. If you want to ask about a refund, contact support first. See Refunds.
- Your email address is held too. While ChatPEP keeps the account's data, its email address cannot sign in or start a new account.
Delete your account
On the web
- Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Settings.
- Select Data controls.
- Next to Delete account, select Delete account.
- Read the confirmation, then select Delete account.
You are signed out and taken to the ChatPEP home page.
On iPhone and on Android
- Open the menu and tap Settings.
- Tap Data controls.
- Tap Delete account, then tap Delete account to confirm.
Without the app
If you cannot open ChatPEP, email support@chatpep.com from the address your account uses and ask for it to be deleted. See Ask to delete your ChatPEP account.
What happens right away
- You are signed out on every device, and the account can no longer be opened.
- Reminders to your phone stop.
- Your shared links stop working.
- If you are a ChatPEP partner, your partner page comes down.
- Emails waiting to be sent to you are cancelled, and you are taken off ChatPEP's mailing list.
- Improve ChatPEP for everyone is turned off, so your chats are no longer used to improve ChatPEP.
Your subscription
- Bought on the web: it is cancelled at once, not at the end of the period, and you are not charged again.
- Bought through the App Store: deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it in your iPhone's Settings as well.
- Bought through Google Play: deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it in the Google Play app as well. See Subscriptions bought on Android.
What is kept, and for how long
ChatPEP keeps a deleted account's data for 365 days to meet legal and financial obligations. Nobody can sign in to it during that time. Temporary chats are still deleted on their usual schedule.
After 365 days, these are deleted permanently:
- Your account and your profile: name, photo, date of birth, goals, conditions, medications, the substances you asked it to check against, biometrics, and My Stack.
- Your tracker: schedules, dose logs, vials, and journal entries.
- Every chat, including archived ones, with every answer and every rating you gave.
- Chats you deleted earlier, and messages kept for safety review.
- The photos and documents you attached, and your profile photo, from storage.
These are kept after that:
- Usage events already recorded, such as pages viewed, though the account they point to no longer exists. See What ChatPEP stores, and for how long.
- Payment records held by Stripe, ChatPEP's payment processor, such as past invoices, and purchase records Apple or Google hold for a plan bought in the iPhone or Android app.
Coming back later
For 365 days after you delete, the account's email address cannot be used to sign in or to sign up. After that, or with a different email address, you can sign up again. You start with a new, empty account on Free, and nothing from the deleted account can be restored.
