Report a safety concern

Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans

To flag an answer, select Report safety concern under it and choose the reason that fits. It works the same on the web, on iPhone, and on Android. For anything that is not a single answer, use Contact support with the topic A safety concern.

What to report

Anything in an answer you think is inaccurate, harmful, or misleading. The report asks you to choose one of these reasons:

  • Reads like instructions to take something
  • A number or calculation looks wrong
  • A source does not say that
  • Missed an interaction
  • Missed that someone was in distress
  • Something else

Report an answer

The buttons under an answer appear once it has finished.

On the web

  1. Select Report safety concern, the shield button.
  2. Under "What is wrong with this answer?", select the reason that fits. The report is sent as soon as you select it.
  3. If none fits, select Something else, write a note, then select Send.

You see "Safety concern reported." and the button changes to Reported.

When you have reached your daily message limit, the buttons under the latest answer are hidden. Use the contact form for that answer.

On iPhone and on Android

  1. Tap Report safety concern, the shield button next to the thumbs.
  2. Tap the reason that fits. The report is sent as soon as you tap it.
  3. If none fits, tap Something else, write a note, then tap Send.

The shield changes to a check mark, and the button reads Reported.

Report something else

The contact form is the place for a concern that is not about one answer, such as a shared link or a partner's page.

  1. Go to Contact support. On iPhone and on Android, open the menu, tap Settings, tap Help center, then select Contact support.
  2. Under What is this about?, choose A safety concern.
  3. Under Message, say which chat it was, roughly when, and what concerned you.
  4. Select Send message.

The team replies by email. When you are signed in, the reply goes to the email address on your account.

What happens after you report

  • The report reaches the ChatPEP team with the answer, the reason you chose, your note if you wrote one, and the rest of that chat, so they can read it in context.
  • Reporting does not change the answer, delete the chat, or change a thumbs up or down you gave it.
  • A report made with the button does not start a conversation. If you want a reply, use the contact form.

Note: Reports are not an emergency line, and no one is alerted when you send one. If someone is in danger, see If you or someone else needs urgent help.
