Share a chat with a link

Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans

Sharing makes a read-only copy of a chat as it stands at that moment and gives you a link to it. Anyone with the link can read the copy without signing in.

Share a chat

On the web

  1. Open the chat.
  2. Select Share at the top right. On a small screen, select More options, then Share.
  3. The Share conversation window makes the link. Select Copy link, or share it straight to X, LinkedIn, or Reddit with the buttons below it.
  4. Select Done.

On iPhone

  1. Touch and hold the chat in the menu, or tap More options in an open chat.
  2. Tap Share. The iPhone share sheet opens with the link, so you can copy it or send it to any app.

On Android

  1. Touch and hold the chat in the menu, or tap More options in an open chat.
  2. Tap Share. Android's share sheet opens with the link, so you can copy it or send it to any app.

What the shared copy shows

  • The chat's title, and every message and answer as they were when you shared, with the sources the answers cite.
  • A calculation you attached, as a line of text.
  • For a photo or document you attached, a note that a file was attached, with its file name. The contents of the file are left out.

Your name, email address, profile, and My Stack are not on the page. Anything you typed into a message is. Shared pages are hidden from search engines, so they only reach people who have the link.

Messages after you share

The copy is frozen. Messages you send afterward are not added to it. To share a newer version, share the chat again. Each time you share, ChatPEP makes a new copy with its own link, and earlier links keep working.
