Appearance and language

On the web

1. Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Settings.
2. Select General.
3. Next to Appearance, select one of the three buttons: the monitor matches your device, the sun is light, and the moon is dark.

The app starts in dark until you choose. Your choice is saved in that browser, so another browser or computer keeps its own. Public pages, including this help center, always show in light.

On iPhone

ChatPEP follows the iPhone's Light or Dark appearance. There is no separate switch in the app. To change it, open the iPhone Settings app and go to Display & Brightness.

On Android

ChatPEP follows your phone's dark theme. There is no separate switch in the app. To change it, open your phone's Settings app, go to Display, and turn Dark theme on or off.

Language decides the units for your height and weight. English (US) shows feet, inches, and pounds. Every other choice shows centimeters and kilograms. Until you choose, ChatPEP uses English (US).

It does not translate ChatPEP's screens, and it does not set the language of answers.

On the web

1. In Settings, select General.
2. Choose a language from the menu next to Language.

On iPhone and on Android

1. Open the menu, tap Settings, then tap Language.
2. Tap a language.

ChatPEP answers in the language you write your message in, whatever Language is set to. If you switch languages partway through a chat, answers switch with you. See Answers in your language.
