Experience level
Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans
Your experience level tells ChatPEP how much to explain. Choose Beginner, Familiar, or Expert in Settings, and answers change from your next message.
The three levels
- Beginner (New to peptides): answers explain more and assume less background.
- Familiar (Some research experience): answers keep explanations light and use common terms, like half-life and reconstitution, without defining them.
- Expert (Deep peptide knowledge): answers use technical terms freely, skip introductions, and name mechanisms directly. They are shorter and more precise.
Change your level
On the web
- Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Settings.
- Select General.
- Under Experience, select a level. It saves right away.
On iPhone and on Android
- Open the menu and tap Settings.
- Under Personalization, tap Experience level.
- Tap a level. It saves right away.
What it does not change
Your level changes how an answer is explained, not the research it draws on. Interaction warnings are the same at every level, and answers stay research-only at every level.
