Coming back after your plan ends
Updated Nov 6, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · Free plan
After a plan or a free trial ends, ChatPEP sends a few short emails from Michael, who makes ChatPEP. If you paid for the plan, one of them offers your first month back free, 30 days after it ends. Your chats, profile, and My Stack stay in your account the whole time.
The emails
- The day your plan ends: a thank-you, and what stays in your account. If you gave a reason when you cancelled, it says it back to you.
- 14 days later: what changed in ChatPEP since you left. It is sent only when there is news, and not when you cancelled because of the price or because you were done with your research.
- When the free month opens: the offer, and the day it closes.
- A few days before it closes: one reminder. Then the emails stop.
After a free trial that ended before your first charge, you get the first two emails and no free month.
Replies go to Michael. If you start a plan again, the rest are not sent. Turn them off with Unsubscribe at the bottom of any of them, or with the Offers switch. See Marketing emails.
The free month
The free month opens 30 days after your plan ends and stays open for 14 days.
- It is for the plan you had, billed monthly.
- Each account can use it once. It is not offered after a free trial that ended before you paid.
- After the free month, the plan renews at its regular price, and you can cancel at any time.
On the web
- Open the plans page. While the offer is open, it says your first month is free and until when.
- On the plan you had, with monthly billing selected, select Start your free month.
- Checkout shows nothing due today. Add a card and select Subscribe now. Your first charge comes when the free month ends.
When you reach the daily message limit while the offer is open, the notice shows First month free on that plan.
You start the free month on the web, even if your plan was bought on iPhone or Android.
