Dose reminders

Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans

Reminders for the entries on Today arrive on your iPhone or Android phone at the times you set on each item. They come from ChatPEP's servers, so a schedule you change on the web reaches your phone within a minute. On the web, Today shows what is due; reminders themselves come only to the iPhone and Android apps.

Allow notifications

On iPhone

The first time you set a schedule on iPhone, ChatPEP asks to send notifications. Allow it to get reminders. Dose reminders are marked time sensitive, so they still arrive during a Focus such as Do Not Disturb unless you turn that off for ChatPEP in your iPhone's Settings. If you said no, open Settings, tap Notifications, and tap Allow notifications, or turn notifications on for ChatPEP in your iPhone's Settings.

On Android

The first time you set a schedule, ChatPEP asks to send notifications. Allow it to get reminders. If you said no, open Settings, tap Notifications, and tap Allow notifications, or open your phone's Settings app, find ChatPEP under Apps, and turn on its notifications.

ChatPEP's notifications on Android come in two channels, and you can turn each one on or off, or change how it alerts you, in the same place in your phone's settings:

  • Reminders: dose reminders and follow-ups. They pop up on screen as they arrive.
  • Updates: low supply notes, the journal prompt, and the note that your daily messages are back. They arrive quietly.

What a reminder says

By default a reminder names the time and the amount, not the item: "Your 8:00 AM entry: 250 mcg · 10 units. Ready to log." The units are the syringe units for that amount, worked out from the item's vial, so they only appear once you save a vial for the item. An item with no amount set shows only the time. Turn on Show names in reminders to see the item's name too: "BPC-157 · 250 mcg · 10 units. Ready to log." Names stay off the lock screen unless you turn that on.

The same amount and units show beside each open entry on Today. Saving a new vial, finishing one, or changing an item's amount updates the reminders already waiting to be sent.

A reminder has two actions, on iPhone and on Android: Log, which records the entry without opening the app, and Snooze, which asks again in 15 minutes. Tapping the reminder opens Today. An entry you log from the app cancels its reminder, and an entry logged from a reminder shows on the web the next time it loads.

Settings

Open Settings and select Notifications on the web, on iPhone, or on Android, or select Notifications under More at the foot of Today:

  • Dose reminders turns every reminder on or off. Each item also has its own Reminders switch on its Schedule card.
  • Follow up on open entries sends one more notice 30 minutes after a reminder when the entry is still open, with the same amount and units and never the name. It is off unless you turn it on, and logging or skipping the entry cancels it. Follow-ups come only to the iPhone and Android apps.
  • Remind me sends the reminder At the time or 10 min before.
  • Quiet hours holds follow-ups and supply notices until they end, 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM unless you change it. Dose reminders still arrive at the time you set.
  • Show names in reminders adds the item's name to the reminder. The amount and units show either way.
  • Low supply sends one notice per vial when it has about 7 days left. Tapping it opens the item, where New vial saves the next one. It never links to a store.
  • Journal prompt set to Mornings asks how you are each morning. It is off unless you turn it on.

Time zones

Reminders fire at the wall-clock time you set, in the time zone your phone or browser reports each time you open ChatPEP. Travel across time zones and the reminders follow.

Stopping reminders

Turn off Dose reminders in Settings, turn off the Reminders switch on one item, or pause or stop the item from its page. Signing out of the iPhone or Android app stops reminders to that phone.
