Why ChatPEP declined to answer
Updated Oct 14, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans
ChatPEP answers questions about peptides and the research around them. When a message is outside that, asks how ChatPEP works inside, or suggests someone may be in danger, ChatPEP replies with a short redirect or with crisis resources instead of an answer. Asking about the research almost always gets you an answer.
What a declined answer looks like
A short reply saying ChatPEP is here to help with peptide research and education, and inviting a question about a compound, a protocol, or a research topic. A question about how ChatPEP works may instead get one sentence saying it does not share details about how it is built, followed by the same invitation.
Why a question is declined
- It is not about peptides, health, or science. Trivia, history, current events, coding, homework, creative writing, and translation are outside what ChatPEP does, even when the answer would be easy.
- It asks how ChatPEP works inside. ChatPEP does not share details about how it is built, or help build a similar assistant. Questions about what ChatPEP can do for you are welcome.
- It asks ChatPEP to set aside its rules, for example to ignore them or to act as something else.
- It was a mistake. Now and then, a genuine research question is declined. Rephrasing it usually works.
Questions about your account, plan, or billing are best answered in this help center. The chat may not answer them.
When you see crisis resources instead
If a message suggests a medical emergency, a possible overdose, thoughts of suicide or self-harm, abuse, or an eating disorder, ChatPEP replies with emergency numbers and helplines instead of an answer. ChatPEP cannot help in an emergency. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number now. See If you or someone else needs urgent help.
When the answer is research, not instructions
Some questions get an answer, just not the one they asked for. ChatPEP describes what studies did and what they found. It does not tell anyone what to take, how much, or how.
- Asked what dose to take, ChatPEP describes the doses that were studied, and in whom.
- Asked to walk you through giving yourself an injection, ChatPEP notes that a qualified medical professional is the right person to teach that, then answers the research question around it.
What you can do
- Ask it as a research question. Name the compound and say what you want to know from the research, such as what studies found or which side effects were reported.
- Look here for account questions. For your plan, billing, or settings, search this help center, or contact support.
- Tell us about a mistake. If a genuine research question was declined, contact support with the question you asked.
Good to know
- A declined message does not count toward your daily messages. See Message limits and when they reset.
- The exchange stays in your chat like any other message.
