How your data is used to improve ChatPEP

Yes, while this setting is on. Turn it off and your chats are left out from then on. Your own questions are never shown to other people.

Two things on the site learn from what people ask, and both read only the chats of people who have this setting on:

• The suggested questions on the home screen are refreshed from recent questions across everyone.
• The guides on the site are chosen from the subjects people ask about most. A guide is written from the help center and the research, never from a chat, and no chat is ever quoted.

Turning the setting off leaves everything else as it was:

• What is stored, and for how long. Your chats are kept the same way either way. See What ChatPEP stores, and for how long.
• Safety review. Messages are still checked for safety whether this is on or off.
• Quality review. ChatPEP still reviews chats to fix problems and improve the product. See Who can see your chats.
• Product analytics. Usage events, like which pages you open, are recorded either way. See Cookies and analytics.
• Ratings. A thumbs up or down you give an answer is still recorded.
• Your answers. The setting has no effect on the answers you get.
• Your tracker. The schedules, dose logs, vials, and journal entries on Today are not chats. They are stored with your account and used only in your own answers, whether this setting is on or off.

On the web

1. Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Settings.
2. Select Data controls.
3. Turn off Improve ChatPEP for everyone.

On iPhone and on Android

1. Open the menu and tap Settings.
2. Tap Data controls.
3. Turn off Improve ChatPEP for everyone.

Your chats are left out from then on. Training that has already happened cannot be undone.
