Subscriptions bought on iPhone
Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to iPhone · All plans
A subscription bought in the ChatPEP iPhone app is billed by Apple through your Apple Account. You manage it, cancel it, and ask for refunds through Apple, not through ChatPEP. It is billed monthly or yearly, at the same price as on the web.
Buying a plan
- Open the menu, tap the gear, then tap Subscription.
- Under Plans, tap the plan you want. The plans screen opens on that plan, and you can choose another at the top.
- Choose Yearly or Monthly. The price shown is what the App Store charges.
- Tap Upgrade to that plan and confirm with Apple.
The panel at your message limit opens the same plans screen, from its button or from See all plans.
Your plan applies as soon as Apple confirms the purchase. Apple emails the receipt.
Moving to a higher plan
Plans keeps listing every plan above the one you pay for, so Basic shows Research and Frontier, and Research shows Frontier. Tap one and buy it the same way. Apple moves you to it right away and credits what is left of your current plan, so you are never billed for two.
On iPhone
- Open the menu, tap the gear, then tap Subscription.
- Under Plans, tap the plan you want.
- Choose Yearly or Monthly, then tap Upgrade to that plan and confirm with Apple.
On the web
On the web, Settings > Plan lists the same plans under Plans, but an App Store subscription can only change in the iPhone app, so follow the steps above.
Manage or cancel
In ChatPEP, tap the gear, tap Subscription, then tap Manage subscription. Your iPhone's subscription settings open. You can also get there directly: open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, then tap ChatPEP.
There you can cancel, move to a lower plan, or switch between monthly and yearly billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep your plan until the end of the month or year you paid for.
A new iPhone, or a reinstall
Your plan belongs to your ChatPEP account, so signing in brings it back. If the app still shows Free, tap the gear, tap Subscription, then tap Restore purchases.
Refunds
Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. ChatPEP cannot issue a refund for a charge Apple made.
Deleting your account
Deleting your ChatPEP account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store. The app reminds you when you delete: cancel it in your iPhone's Settings as well.
Subscriptions bought on the web
A subscription bought on the web is billed by ChatPEP, not by Apple, and is managed on the web. The app shows it next to Subscription and lists the higher plans under Plans, but you move up to one at chatpep.com, under Settings > Plan. See Change your plan and Manage or cancel a subscription.
Subscriptions bought on Android
A subscription bought in the Android app is billed through Google Play. The iPhone app shows it next to Subscription and says changes to it happen in the ChatPEP Android app. See Subscriptions bought on Android.
Partner offers
A partner's offer is redeemed through an App Store offer code. See Referral discounts at checkout.
