Subscriptions bought on Android
Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Android · All plans
A subscription bought in the ChatPEP Android app is billed through Google Play, to your Google Account. You manage it and cancel it through Google Play, not through ChatPEP. It is billed monthly or yearly, at the same price as on the web and on iPhone.
Buying a plan
- Open the menu, tap the gear, then tap Subscription.
- Under Plans, tap the plan you want. The plans screen opens on that plan, and you can choose another at the top.
- Choose Yearly or Monthly. The price shown is what Google Play charges.
- Tap Upgrade to that plan and confirm with Google Play.
The panel at your message limit opens the same plans screen, from its button or from See all plans.
Your plan applies as soon as Google Play confirms the purchase. Google emails the receipt.
Moving to a higher plan
Plans keeps listing every plan above the one you pay for, so Basic shows Research and Frontier, and Research shows Frontier. Tap one and buy it the same way. Google Play moves you to it right away and credits what is left of your current plan, so you are never billed for two.
On the web, Settings > Plan lists the same plans under Plans, but a Google Play subscription can only change in the Android app, so follow the steps above.
Manage or cancel
In ChatPEP, tap the gear, tap Subscription, then tap Manage subscription. Your subscriptions in Google Play open. You can also get there directly: open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, tap Payments & subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, then tap ChatPEP.
There you can cancel, or update how you pay. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep your plan until the end of the month or year you paid for.
Move to a lower plan, or change how often you pay
Google Play cannot move a ChatPEP plan down, or switch it between monthly and yearly billing. Cancel it in Google Play instead. When the period you paid for ends, your account moves to Free, and Plans lists every plan again, so you can buy the one you want, monthly or yearly.
A new phone, or a reinstall
Your plan belongs to your ChatPEP account, so signing in brings it back. If the app still shows Free, tap the gear, tap Subscription, then tap Restore purchases.
Refunds
Google Play handles refunds for Google Play purchases, so request one from Google Play first. If Google Play directs you to ChatPEP, contact support with the topic Plans and billing. See Refunds.
Deleting your account
Deleting your ChatPEP account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play. Cancel it in the Google Play app as well.
Plans bought somewhere else
Your plan belongs to your account, so a plan bought on the web or on iPhone works in the Android app once you sign in, and a plan bought on Android works on the web and on iPhone. Each one is changed only where it was bought:
- Bought on the web: billed by ChatPEP and managed at chatpep.com, under Settings > Plan. The app shows it next to Subscription and lists the higher plans under Plans, but does not sell them. See Manage or cancel a subscription.
- Bought on iPhone: billed by Apple. The Android app shows it and says changes happen in the ChatPEP iPhone app. See Subscriptions bought on iPhone.
Partner offers
Partner offers cannot be redeemed through Google Play, so the Android app shows a partner's page without the offer. Sign in on the web with the same account to claim it there. See Referral discounts at checkout.
