Payment methods, receipts, and invoices

Updated Oct 17, 2026 · Applies to Web · All plans

ChatPEP takes cards, plus Apple Pay or Google Pay when your device offers them. Payments are handled by Stripe, ChatPEP's payment processor. Your receipt is sent by email, and your billing page, opened from Manage, is where you update your card and find past invoices.

Ways to pay

When you choose a plan on the web, the checkout shows:

  • Apple Pay or Google Pay, at the top, when your device and browser support them.
  • Card fields, below them, for any card.

Prices are in US dollars. The order summary shows Due today, the amount charged when you select Subscribe now. After that, you are charged when your plan renews, each month or each year depending on the billing you chose, until you cancel.

When an offer includes a free trial, the button reads Start free trial, Due today is nothing, and the summary names the day of the first charge and the amount. Your card is saved so that charge can go through. Cancel before that day and you pay nothing.

Your card details

The card fields belong to Stripe. As the checkout says: "Secured by Stripe. Your card details are encrypted and never reach our servers." ChatPEP never sees or stores your full card number.

Update your card

  1. Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Settings.
  2. Select Plan.
  3. Select Manage.
  4. On your billing page, update the card your subscription is charged to.

Receipts and invoices

When a payment goes through, the confirmation screen says your receipt is on its way by email. If you cannot find it, check your spam or promotions folder.

Your billing page, opened from Manage, lists your past invoices. If you need a receipt or invoice you cannot find there, contact support with the topic Plans and billing.

If a payment fails

If a renewal payment does not go through, your account moves to Free until it does. Update your card from Manage. When a later payment attempt succeeds, your plan comes back on its own.

On iPhone

A plan bought in the iPhone app is paid through the App Store, with the payment method on your Apple Account, and Apple sends the receipt. Everything else on this page is for plans bought on the web. See Subscriptions bought on iPhone.

On Android

A plan bought in the Android app is paid through Google Play, with the payment method on your Google Account, and Google sends the receipt. Everything else on this page is for plans bought on the web. See Subscriptions bought on Android.
