What ChatPEP is, and what it is not

Updated Oct 16, 2026 · Applies to Web, iPhone, and Android · All plans

ChatPEP is an AI research assistant for peptides. Ask what the research says about a compound and it answers in plain language, with citations to the studies behind the answer. It is for research and education only: it is not medical advice, and it never tells you what to take.

What ChatPEP does

  • Answers research questions about peptides and related compounds: what they do, what studies found, which side effects were reported, how two compounds compare, and how they were dosed in research.
  • Cites its sources. Claims link to the studies, trials, and pages they come from, so you can check them yourself. See Sources and citations.
  • Says how strong the evidence is. An answer tells you whether a finding comes from human trials or only from animal and lab studies.
  • Fits answers to you. Your goals, your experience level, and the medications and conditions you share shape the answers you get. See What ChatPEP knows about you.
  • Warns about interactions. When a question names a compound that may interact with a medication or condition in your profile, a warning appears above the answer. See Interaction warnings.
  • Does the math. The reconstitution calculator works out concentration and volume for a vial. See Use the reconstitution calculator.
  • Keeps track of what you research in My Stack. See Save what you are researching in My Stack.

ChatPEP's answers are written by PEP, the world's first AI model built for peptide research. See The PEP model and release notes.

What ChatPEP is not

  • Not medical advice. ChatPEP does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. Talk to a qualified healthcare provider before making any decision about your health. See ChatPEP is not medical advice.
  • Not a set of instructions. ChatPEP describes what studies did and what they found. It does not tell you what to take, how much, or how. See Research only: what that means.
  • Not for emergencies. If you or someone else may be in danger, call your local emergency number now. See If you or someone else needs urgent help.
  • Not a store. ChatPEP does not sell peptides or any other compound.
  • Not always right. ChatPEP can make mistakes. Open the sources behind anything that matters to you.
  • Not a general assistant. ChatPEP answers questions about peptides and the research around them. It declines questions on unrelated subjects, like history or coding. See Why ChatPEP declined to answer.

Who it is for

ChatPEP is for adults 18 and older who want to understand what the research says before they form a view. See Age requirement.

Plans

ChatPEP is free to start. Free includes 5 messages a day. Paid plans add more messages, saved chat history, and deeper research. See Compare plans.

Where to use it

ChatPEP works in any web browser at chatpep.com/app, on a computer or a phone. The iPhone app is not on the App Store yet, and the Android app is not on Google Play yet. See ChatPEP on the web, iPhone, and Android.

Guides and news

Two parts of the site are written for reading rather than asking.

  • Guides show how to do a research task: read a study, check a compound against a medication, get the syringe math right, or judge what a research tool should do for you. They are written by ChatPEP's own tools from this help center and the research, checked against both before they publish, and checked again when an article they quote changes. Every claim a guide makes about ChatPEP comes from an article listed under it.
  • News carries PEP releases and what new studies found, with every claim cited. See The PEP model and release notes.

Neither one gives advice. A guide describes what a tool does and what the research says; it never tells you what to take.
